About Us

High-Five Farms Native Nursery is located in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. We are are a budding backyard nursery focused on sourcing local ecotypes, growing Mid-Atlantic native plants, and making them available for sale at our farm. We want to help gardeners and conservationists establish healthy, diverse, and beneficial eco-systems. You can find us at 390 Mountain Rd, Denver, PA 17517

We are Katrina and Joe, a husband and wife team. We have been working on transforming our 35 acres into native habitat for the past 5 years. While trying to source plants, we noticed that there is a gap in the availability of native plants in the area. We decided to help meet that need and start a native plant nursery. We specialize in plants that are native to the Mid-Atlantic region. We grow everything ourselves, mostly from seed. We promote genetic diversity and we are working towards adding more local ecotypes. We only grow straight species, never cultivars. We never use neonicotinoids. We are currently by appointment, which you can easily book here. We hope that you give us a visit. Even if you just want to look at what we have and talk native plants, we would be happy to see you!

If you want a bit more on the specifics surrounding our farm, the land, and our land management plans, feel free to stop by and bend our ears! We would be happy to chat about how we sit in the Level IV ecoregion (64b) Trap Rock and Conglomerate Uplands within the larger Level III ecoregion Northern Piedmont (64). We can discuss our NRCS EQIP project. We have experience in invasive species remediation, pollinator meadow installation, and native habitat creation. We also have experience with forest health improvement, including adding species diversity, Timber Stand Improvement, and large scale tree planting and riparian buffers.

Our farm is located at the headwaters of a tributary of Indian Run which feeds Cocalico Creek. Cocalico creek enters the Conestoga River South West of Brownstown Pennsylvania. The Conestoga enters the Susquehanna River just below the Safe Harbor Dam on its way to the Chesapeake Bay. In addition to habitat creation and promoting forest health, we are also cognizant of and focused on watershed improvement. Schedule an appointment and let’s chat about some of these items, you can also leave with some great native plants from the Nursery!

We are a Pennsylvania Native Plant Society Green Seal Pledge Nursery.
