Description
Early Sunflower (Heliopsis helianthoides) is native to central and eastern North America, spanning from Canada to the southeastern United States. This robust perennial typically reaches heights of 3 to 5 feet and thrives in full sun. It prefers well-drained soil but is adaptable to a variety of soil types, including clay and loamy soils. Blooming from mid-summer to early fall, Early Sunflower produces abundant bright yellow flowers that resemble small sunflowers, attracting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Additionally, this plant exhibits good deer resistance, making it an excellent choice for gardens in areas with high deer populations.
